1953

John & Donna Aunspaw

I have owned several Corvettes but now I am down to the '53. I found the '53 in an ad in the newspaper, which I promptly answered. I received a phone call to be at a certain place and time on a certain day, and I had one hour to look over the car. I made a bid on the car and it was accepted. I forgot to mention, while we were looking at the car our son was also looking at a car. At two years old, he was already a Corvette "man", he found a 1968 Rupp Corvette go cart. I landed up buying two Corvettes instead of one.

The car was in need of a full restoration. During restoration, my friend's body shop was robbed and they used my Corvette to step on to get tools and equipment into the "get away" vehicle. They obviously didn't know what they were stepping on, the body was worth much more than the tools.

That was 31 years ago, the restoration was completed and my wife and I thoroughly enjoy the car.
