1963 Corvette
Corvette completely
redesigned both the body and chassis. For the first time, hide-away headlights were used and a coupe body style was added to the lineup. In 1963 only, a
center split on the coupe roof flowed through the rear glass creating the famous
"Split Window". This was also the first Corvette to use an independent rear suspension, doing away with the solid rear
axle.
