Corvette Museum Announces Campaign to Fund 70 Acre Land Purchase
Planned for Future Home of the NCM Motorplex Park

The National Corvette Museum has officially kicked off a fundraising campaign to fund the purchase of 70-plus acres located across Interstate 65 from the Museum at exit 28 in Bowling Green . The Museum's ambitious goal is to raise $1,060,000 to fund the land acquisition. Future plans would include constructing a Motorplex Park with a ¼ mile drag strip, an autocross/skid pad area, and a 1.5 mile road course.

“Although our building expansion remains our number one priority, the opportunity to obtain a future site for a Motorplex Park was too important to pass up,” states NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode. “Private contributions are essential to help us on the repayment of the land debt over the next two years. We are extremely excited about this opportunity which will broaden our mission and remain grateful for the continual support of the Corvette community.”

As part of the campaign, supporters can “purchase” an acre with a gift of $15,000. Opportunities are also available to secure a ½ acre with a gift of $7,500 and ¼ acre with a gift of $3,750. Donations may be paid over a two year period. Supporters will receive a commemorative “Appreciation Deed” in recognition of their dedication.

Gifts at the $100 or above level will receive a commemorative dash plaque featuring artwork of the Motorplex property. All donors of $1,000 or more will be recognized in our annual Winner's Circle level at the C5/C6 Bash in April 2009. Participation is encouraged at all levels with recognition for contributions in the Museum's membership magazine, America 's Sports Car.

Once completed, the Motorplex will be available during NCM hosted events to participants as well as for rent and reservation by Corvette Clubs for educational and competitive use.
