EX 122 - EXPERIMENTAL  V8  PROTOTYPE
1953 CORVETTE OWNED BY: JACK INGLE
~ CLICK IMAGES TO VIEW LARGER ~

Background:
Originally built with the six cylinder engine, this Corvette had a non running V-8 installed in October of 1953 to see what modifications would be necessary to install a V-8 in the 1955 Corvette. Between October of 1953 and late 1955, this Vette was rebuilt several times. The last time, it was painted red and it is believed that it was assigned the EX-122 number at this time.

Specifications:
  265 cubic inch V-8 engine
  Power glide automatic transmission
  3.27:1 rear axle ratio

Special features:
Total restoration back to the April 1956 configuration was started in 1973 and completed in 1978. Since then, it has made numerous appearances at National Corvette Restorers Society and Bloomington Gold as well as shows in the Rochester area where Jack lives.
