New Jersey Motorsports Park HPDE
The latest addition to our highly successful HPDE program on July 20-21 is a trek to Millville, NJ for 2 days of speed and fun at New Jersey Motorsports Park's Lightning track. With its renowned light-bulb corner and curves with elevation changes, NJMP Lightning offers a challenging circuit for beginners and experts alike, together with excellent facilities to expand the Museum's highly-regarded High Performance Driving Event program. Track and facilities information is available at www.njmotorsportspark.com.
The addition of NJMP Lightning offers an NCM HPDE event in the Northeast for the first time and is highly anticipated by Vette enthusiasts in the area. Registration should open during the month of March 2009. A maximum of 86 student participants will be allowed, so you will want to make your reservation as soon as registration opens, as this event will fill up very quickly.
At this school your $475 (members, $525 for non-members) registration includes a banquet at the track Monday night (you may purchase additional tickets, $35pp for your companions) as well as an event T-shirt. A fine cuisine restaurant and bar will be open at the Clubhouse Sunday night for dinner.
We will continue to have run groups based on experience; beginner, novice, intermediate, advanced and instructors. Students must drive either a coupe or FRC Corvette; convertibles are only permitted if they have an approved roll structure. All students in the beginner and novice levels will have classroom instruction and will be accompanied by an instructor in their car while on track. Intermediate students will have assigned instructors and will be checked out for possible solo status. This year students may drive any GM auto product suitable for track use. So Camaros, G8s, Solstice Coupes, CTS-Vs etc. are all acceptable. Trucks are not permitted nor are convertibles unless the have an SCCA roll cage.
Once you register, you need to download and complete the pages in the following documents.
