What does it mean to be “Corvette Powered”? Visitors to the National Corvette Museum will have the opportunity to learn exactly what it means when they step into an exciting new exhibit by the same name: Corvette Powered. The exhibit showcases vehicles, specifically mid-century non-General Motors/non-Corvette vehicles, that utilized Corvette engines and drivelines.
Special Emphasis Tours
The National Corvette Museum is the perfect place for students to explore career options. In addition to being a popular tourist attraction, we are like a mini-city with a café, theater, store, insurance agency, an auto repair facility, a library and archives, and a world-class race track. To support these businesses, we have administrative and accounting offices along with IT and marketing professionals. During the tour, students meet with our professionals and discuss their position, job requirements, and career opportunities. (2 hours)
The National Corvette Museum serves as an educational resource for all to enjoy. Through our custom curriculum tours, your lessons in the classroom come to life in the Museum’s many displays. Teaching your students about Physics? Earth Science? American/World History? Design? Economics? We will reinforce your tour with a lesson and/or materials that will enhance your students’ understanding of the content.
The National Corvette Museum welcomes music groups to perform a “Musical Intermission” in the Chevrolet Theater by advance arrangement. Contact Debbie in our Group Sales office (270)467-8808 to learn more and reserve your date.
The Parent Driving Zone
Grade 4-8 Mobility and Safety Curriculum
We have partnered with Andy Pilgrim and the Traffic Safety Education Foundation to provide resources to help educate students regarding automobile safety and driver distraction that puts students at risk when walking / cycling / skating. Contact us to request printed packets/materials for your class at 270-467-8842.
These activities go great with your visit to the National Corvette Museum and are designed to bring what you’ve experienced at the Museum right to your class!
What’s a Corvette Made of?
A car is made of many different materials… from the rubber in the tires, to the leather of the seats, glass of the windows, fiberglass and metal of the body and much more. Students will touch and feel these parts of a car, learn why different materials are selected for each part and sort the parts of the car by what they are made of. Download What’s a Corvette Made of?
